THE DBA VISION STATEMENT

Danville’s Downtown is a pleasant, pedestrian friendly thoroughfare characterized by the history, culture and architecture of our Iron Heritage. Danville is the first community on the North Branch of the Susquehanna River to successfully unite its Downtown with the river and natural resources like the Pennsylvania Canal Trail.

The Danville Business Alliance, the Borough of Danville, the Commissioners of Montour County, major area employers such as Geisinger Health System, Cherokee Pharmaceuticals, and others, and the Citizens of Danville cooperate to make Danville a thriving business community anchored by historical buildings such as the Montour County Courthouse, the Montgomery House Museum and new development projects.

Danville has a wide variety of shops, restaurants and services that make Downtown a lively environment for citizens and visitors during the day and in the evening. It is a thriving residential area with attractive housing. At the same time, Downtown Danville is the home for start-up service and technology businesses that meet the needs of the Geisinger Health System and other area industries.
