Looking Ahead, the DBA will be:
- developing a historic walking trail in the community to showcase historic structures, former landmarks, industries and points of historic interest
- continuing the mural program begun in the summer of 2009 with the cooperation of local artists and interested businesses and members of the community
- expanding our facade grant program to benefit as many downtown property and business owners as possible
- working with various public and private partners to implement the Downtown Danville Master Plan, the result of a year-long collaboration between the DBA and the Pennsylvania State University Department of Landscape Architecture
- creating a business development strategy for our downtown that will serve to retain our existing businesses while also attracting others to complement the ones we have
- marketing the promise to our visitors, shoppers, and prospective downtown investors of our ability to move into the future while also renewing our ties to our heritage
- increasingly showcasing Danville's artisans and businesses through its special events
- working with the Bucknell Small Business Development Center and its members to offer continuing education opportunities to assist individual businesses to maximize their potential
- encouraging upper floor restoration in the Mill Street corridor that creates opportunities for individuals and families to live and work in Danville
- building a long-term sustainable financial foundation that will permit continued growth and community service beyond the lifetime of the Main Street program
